Meet Our Teachers

 Mary Bowden

Mary has taught Beginning Quilting, Seminole Piecing, Machine and Hand Appliqué and the Log Cabin block.  She says she “likes it all”, but her specialty is paper piecing and EQ6 quilting software.  She has loads of tips and tricks to share in her classes and in the EQ6 Club.

Nancy Busby

Nancy brings almost 30 years of quilting experience to our students.  She enjoys all parts of the quilting process, from designing and planning to the last stitch in the binding.  Nancy has been passing on her knowledge and experience since 1990.  She appliqués and quilts by hand and machine.

Nancy Haldeman

Nancy has been quilting since 1984 and has a passion for sharing the love of quilting with a great sense of humor and a contagious positive attitude. She loves bright happy colors and machine quilting. In 2006 she took home the 3rd place ribbon for her denim quilt in the Large Quilt – Machine Quilted category at the Arizona Quilt Guild Show at ASU West.

Nancy Lindblom

Nancy has been quilting for 30 years.  She has been the owner/designer of a pattern company for 10 years.  Machine and hand embellishment gives her projects the perfect finishing touch.  Teaching is her way to share her inspiration with you as you explore the fun and creativity of quilting.

Janet Moreau

Janet has been quilting since 1979. A few years ago she saw a demonstration on embellishing sweatshirts and turning them into jackets. She has really taken off with the concept and makes stunning jackets. She also helps teach our beginning classes, and assists Arla with Thimbleberries Club. She says her favorite part of quilting is embellishing and the finishing.

Bonnie Park

Bonnie is a quilter, knitter and crocheter (did we just make up a word?) and has been sewing since high school.  We won’t give away how long that is, come take one of her classes and maybe you can get her to spill the beans.  She teaches quilting and crochet and loves cats and Texas.

Arla Ballesteros

We are so happy that Arla is taking on our Thimbleberries Club for another year.  She has been an active Thimbleberries member since 2002 and has spent 4 years as Club Coordinator.  Arla is always checking the Thimbleberries web site and discussion groups for fun ideas for us.  This year we sponsored a Thimbleberries Camp that she arranged for us.  Not only does she keep our meetings organized and moving along, she also has challenges and new ideas for using our Thimbleberries stash and patterns.
